Have already mentioned, I believe, my Property Investment: paid for two years ago, not actually built yet (as I discovered very recently) and, despite my efforts six months ago with Financial Advisor, still mine.

Financial Advisor has moved to Australia, apparently: it took me some time to find that out. Since then I have been dealing with his boss, D, to whom I last (and indeed first) spoke over a month ago.

Emailed D earlier to enquire what was happening. Have just had a stroppy email from him going on about me not answering my mobile (I have told him several times that I work in a mobile-free zone) and how I need to go and see him in person before anything can happen.

Not what he said before.

I am SO SICK OF THIS. Despite the company's stated objective of staying in touch ("... to empower our clients by giving them the necessary information and tools that enable them to make better personal, lifestyle and financial choices.") getting information is like getting blood out of a stone.

I think you've reached the stage of getting very shirty indeed with these people. They are supposed to be acting for you, not causing you trouble. If I were you I would e-mail back and say:

1. You are unable to use your mobile during working hours and he may not contact you that way.

2 You are unable to take time off work to see him.

3. You want everything in writing because you are considering a complaint to the FSA.

4. You require a written summary of the position with regard to your sale and his planned further actions within three working days.

5. If he doesn't provide it (and continue to provide prompt, courteous and accurate service afterwards without excuses or attempts to contact you other than in writing) you will be making a complaint to the FSA without further delay.

You've been very patient so far. Time to stop!

All good steps. Especially with the note regarding mobile use - if you've told them that your mobile is not an effective way to get it touch with you, then they should not be ringing it. To do so indicates that either a) they're disregarding your instructions or b) they haven't made sufficient notes on your file regarding contact methods. So they're either incompetent or intentionally difficult. Both are worth reports to the FSA.

I can give you the details of Mary's and my financial advisor who is (a) good and (b) exceedingly good at getting people to do stuff they don't want to do...
