Can anyone advise?

A friend sent me some wonderful Christmas fishes from the Isle of Man. (No, no prizes for guessing who). However, they have only just arrived -- in two separate packages -- and are past best-by date. Paperwork in one package suggests that they weren't sent until the best-by date: postmark on one package is 2/1/04.

Is friend entitled to ring 'em up and get more fisssssssh* sent to me?

I'd say almost certainly. Sale of Goods Act - they'd need to send the fish soonest to ensure it reached you in very good time as it is fresh food. I'd imagine that they'd replace it to keep their reputation if nothing else.

No harm in trying anyway. Are they nice fish? Will you need help devouring the replacements????

Oi, get in the queue!

Actually no, don't. They're a bit too bony for my taste :)
