Photo Supplement (and some News)
Tuesday, July 1st, 2003 03:50 pmI'm having to limit my computer usage to 45-minute slots because of a back problem, which means that I'm losing track of my Friends. Apologies! The back injury is probably a torn ligament, sustained (don't laugh) while getting stressed in a yoga class taught by a substitute teacher with a very annoying voice ... moral of the story? Don't get annoyed in a yoga class. It ranges from a mild ache to severe pain whenever I move, so I'm abusing painkillers and doing very mild exercise. It should clear up eventually, and there's nothing a doctor can do short of telling me to rest, which -- being smart -- I had worked out for myself.
However, I had a wonderful weekend helping the (very wonderful)
ladymoonray and
zoo_music_girl celebrate their birthday. On Friday night we went to a nightclub and I watched an interesting and educational film about giant squid (more of your Lovecraftian beast, really). The sound was turned down and the club was playing mopey goth tunes, which were actually a pretty good soundtrack. Saturday was birthday party time, featuring sunshine, pink drink, cat poi, and my retiring upstairs to lie flat and feel sorry for myself.

By Sunday night I was exhausted ...
