Imagine that you are a service provider.

Imagine that a customer of several years' standing phones to tell you that they are switching providers.

What is the obvious question? Why would you not ask it?

Imagine that you are a giant corporation that can't find its ass with both hands, with old failing equipment, insufficient staff and management is generally incompetent. Imagine that you have employees, consultants and customers already tell you why all the customers are fleeing like rats from a sinking ship. That's why you would not ask -- you know far too well already.

Wouldn't have said Virgin fell into those categories -- they are certainly better than most of the competition. I'm really only leaving because I've found a better deal (cost and functionality) elsewhere. But it's quite possible that I am out of touch with the word on the street!
