Calling fellow sufferers:
- is there a 'Day Three' stage where you feel generally well, apart from dizziness / wobbliness / weakness, until you start getting stabbing pains at random locations in torso?
or is it just me?

I've had emails from two people this morning reporting similar symptoms.

And the secondary set of people seem to be getting it now too, we've had two new sufferers start last night.

Do you have Abi and Clara on the secondary list...?

We need a flow chart!

She does: Fran and I exchanged emails earlier this morning and those two were mentioned.

I've just spoken to Judith, and she and Henry are much improved -- she says she hasn't had this extra symptom, and she's now on day three.

I've escaped it so far, and I was in very close contact with Judith/Henry/Abi, so I'm typing with my fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed indeed: it's the last thing you deserve after your epic drive!

I had Abi and my John, but not Clara. That flowchart would be a flipchart on my dining room wall, I ran out of space on my notepad ...

Sorry, yes, I had Clara on my list, but not as a confirmed secondary.

Actually, I'm not sure she is a secondary: I can't think who she would have got it from, but she only got ill last night. Hmm.

How about an LJ post?! I'd be interested to see just how many other people are getting it, and at which stage. (Am intrigued by the uniformity of symptoms and time-scales -- does that mean it's more likely to be a virus than foody thing? But then, I spent most of my con, and the drive back, with [livejournal.com profile] ladymoonray and she's fine ...)

am perturbed at the thought of secondary set: and I wonder how long it's infectious for?

I have dizziness and wobbliness -- I'm vaguely trying to do post-con tidying and laundry and putting away, but I keep having to sit down every five minutes to catch my breath and let the room stop spinning.

No stabbing pains, yet, but istr that you were a couple of hours ahead of me, so we'll see what happens....

I was getting the dizziness and wobbliness yesterday afternoon, and also feeling very sleepy (but that's not atypical for me at present). Suspect I cleared out the initial Projectile state before you did -- just too thirsty not to keep drinking liquid, and you probably remember what effect that had!

Stabbing pains are random and intermittent -- they may just be muscles that were strained during the evacuation processes. But not fun, and very severe, and colleagues are looking concerned and steering clear. which is good.

They probably all have it by now.

In hindsight, not drinking through all the first night was probably not a good move, since it got me dehydrated, but boy, I would have done anything to avoid more nausea at that point.

I know what you mean, the nausea hurt so much! But with the thirst and the consequent headache it was so horribly like migraine and in my confused state I 'knew' that it would be worse if I didn't drink, because that's what used to happen with migraines. That I don't get any more.

Don't know about the stabbing pains, but dizziness/wobbliness is about right.

Oh bloody hell. Poor you! And poor other people suffering too.

I have a Theory, which is that you *would* have had it, but managed to kill it off with copious doses of Dark Pink Drink.

But, hang on, didn't I drink lots of that too?

I think you've found the flaw in the theory...

I'm not immune to everything, of course, but I do have a fairly strong constitution. For which I'm currently thanking all the deities. And crossing my fingers I don't get it now - I really, really want to get to Rome on Saturday!

I usually have a stronger constitution than this (though I know I've been run-down lately). Also, makes me almost certain that it's not food poisoning, as that so very rarely happens!

I have not been so physically incapacitated since the very worst of my migraines. Never again would be good.

That'll be the voodoo.

Seriously, major sympathies.

Pains yes, but not torso, abdomen. It's getting better, though. I am still very tired and keeping to my bed.

ladymoonray may have had a non-symptomatic infection or could have had a similar infection in the near past.

Or just a spiffier immune system. I certainly had a compromised immune system due to exhaustion.

I was using 'torso' in the broadest sense -- 'everything that is not head or limbs'. Kind of expected abdominal pain, but some of it feels like ovarian pain, some like Bad Stomach ... and some is in upper chest or around solar plexus.

Hurts!

My immune system is usually surprisingly good but I've been rather run-down lately -- and my ongoing Stomach thing probably doesn't help.

Must adjust meds to make up for lost ones, too ...

Yes, then I've had those. I vaguely thought bladder, then though, oooh it's my poor guts growing scabs or the mucky wetty equivalent of :-) Still, I went in search of my hot pack, and couldn't find it, of course. Sigh.
