Am now Moved, and mostly Sorted, and more convinced than ever that I have the most fabulous friends in the world. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sbisson, [livejournal.com profile] marypcb, [livejournal.com profile] ivory_goddess, [livejournal.com profile] techno_fear, and [livejournal.com profile] soulstar for services above and beyond what anyone would expect, including:
- getting nearly all my possessions into R's loft
- getting the rest of my possessions to Kent
- then getting said possessions upstairs
- being excellent company even when my nerves frayed a little
- being reassuring
- understanding perfectly when I was soppy about leaving [livejournal.com profile] samandshiva (who will be joining me next weekend, unless R reneges in which case I shall set her family on her).

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] residentevil666 for not biting me very much. Hahahaha! I slept through your 3am welcoming party!

And above all thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ladymoonray for being better than the best friend I could have imagined. Not only transport, not only soothing messages, not only a room of my own, but Lush shower gel! Prawn cocktail! Pink drink! Pink fridge!

And an internet connection that works.

Could I just mention, for the record, that [livejournal.com profile] residentevil666 has not eaten her yet?

thanks

did the clothes rail collapse again yet? I have a set of hang-a-pole-from-under-a-shelf holders if you go that route...

It has never really uncollapsed! Propped up on the book-case ...
Can you explain the pole-under-shelf concept? We are Plotting.

Draw a T and put an O under it, joined together
T
0

the top of the T screws to the underside of a woden shelf
the pole goes through the 0
there's enough clearance for the coat-hangers to slip over the pole because the T is a couple of inches high
the clothes hang down in the space below the shelf, so you can have one full height or two half height ones depending on how many shelves you fit
think of a towel rail hanging vetically down not horizontally out from the wall...
you could also use the underneath of one of the existing shelves and a shelf support at the other end if you don't want more shelves, but you could put boots and shelves on a shelf that the pole attaches to.
with a narrow shelf upright, it could go futher into the corner and scarves and belts could hang where there isn't room for coat hangers to fit...

does that help?

we have a spare ivar upright that's very tall that could be pressed into service if necessary...
