This morning we went for a gruelling trekleisurely stroll at beautiful snowy Meyer Ranch. Host and I both negotiated the icy pathways with Elven grace (i.e. did not quite fall over). Due to someone having taken most of the oxygen out of the air, I declined to run lightly over the snow.

Sub-zero temperatures could not detract from the loveliness of the picturesque walks, although they detracted from any attempt to stand still or take pictures. Actually, the morning warmed up very quickly: on our way up it was bitterly cold and painful on exposed flesh, on the way back down (some 40 minutes later) I was gloveless and debating removing a layer or two.

After this interlude in the snowy woods, I felt refreshed and invigorated: so I went to Walmart in search of my inner capitalist. Bought:
- new sunglasses (old ones, while cool and efficient in British climate, are not up to Colorado sun)
- glittery fruit-flavoured lipsalve with pretty plastic gem detail
- fake-fur-trim boots with proper grip
- Big Red gum

Am not a real consumer.

It would appear not, as the domain seems to be "sminkypinky.net", not "www.sminkypinky.net". I looked at the properties of the photos, and then pasted the address into the browser window. Once I've looked at them separately, they then appear in my LJ entry, presumably because they've been cached. This leads me to believe that the problem is that it's one of those domains that doesn't allow you to link externally to it for stuff like photos, like the free Yahoo webspace.

Thanks for compliment re coat! Actually, coat (which was my mother's - bought for half a crown at a Leigh-on-Sea jumble sale in the early 1960s) is very very warm. Hence its presence here ...
