Tonight is Paperwork Night
Wednesday, March 31st, 2004 10:09 pmPleasantly aching from yoga (very good for switching off useless internal whining) I turn my attention to a teetering wodge of incoming Stuff.
Dear Plymouth Social Services
Yes, it was really kind of me to complete and return the Financial Assessment form SS280b, wasn't it? I can tell you appreciated it by the way you crossed out all the numbers I painstakingly copied from my father's bank statement, and inserted your own, higher figures, thus meaning there is a large back-payment to be made.
Please tell me why you persist in bothering me with this stuff if you are going to overrule the information I send you -- which may not be correct, but is the best I have.
I can hardly contain my joy at the thought of an hour or so on the phone to you tomorrow afternoon. How lucky that I had already booked the time off work.
Next up: Creative Billing, as I convince a major client that they will pay me for another largely-wasted trip. (Also known as the 'it always works when you're demonstrating that it doesn't' effect).
