80s Pop Songs Ate My Head
Thursday, May 9th, 2002 08:55 pmEntry originally titled Balancing Acts, but then they did, so it isn't.
no, I have not been drinking. This is quite normal.
Today started with the realisation that I was in one of those grey moods: so, after that, the only way was up, baby.
I'm having a good day:
And on that note of smugness, shall kick back and wait for Tesco's to deliver non-pickled food.

Today started with the realisation that I was in one of those grey moods: so, after that, the only way was up, baby.
I'm having a good day:
sbisson wrote me a hymn! This may be the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me, certainly on LJ. Now I want the remix ...- Am eating pickled onions out of the jar, secure in the knowledge that no one is in a position to complain
- Have developed a theory about fanwriting and LJing. It may be worthy enough to actually get written up
- have salvaged boss's (and, incidentally, own) reputation by developing a working prototype in 5 hours, after a hellish meeting that I've been requesting for over a month
- Can smell sample of new perfume, Gloria, even after a swim. Clearly a little goes a long way. It's rather pleasant, if slightly marshmallowy.
- lots of good stuff on Q's May cover CD: ... especially the Dirtbombs, over-amplified blues rock with a wonderfully retro feel: Kosheen, Gothy drum'n'bass: Simian ... ah. It says 'trip-hop'. Should I be worried? But it's good. [Creak, goes my mind, opening a bit more]. Shall go buy some of it tomorrow.
- read a book for half an hour and didn't feel sick. Am very happy about this: last time I tried (and the time before and the time before etc) it did make me sick, and I'd rather slumped into assuming I was now functionally illiterate (except for e-books).
- the guys downstairs are smoking a joint with the window open. Bastards: it has tobacco in it. But the tobacco doesn't bother me, which is One Giant Step.
And on that note of smugness, shall kick back and wait for Tesco's to deliver non-pickled food.

Pickled Onions?
Date: Friday, May 10th, 2002 03:52 am (UTC)I was highly disappointed recently on purchasing a jar labelled 'Strong Pickled Onions' to discover they were severely misrepresented. Eugh! Can't bear weak and watery pickled onions. Seriously wish I knew how my grandma made pickled onions, I've never been able to buy any anywhere near as strong...
