Well, I didn't swim the Thames on my way home from Crossharbour (about 3 miles, by foot, including (a) Greenwich Foot Tunnel and (b) torrential rain) but the net effect (soaked to the skin) would have been the same.
And why was the DLR not running south of Crossharbour?
No oxygen in the tunnel, allegedly. Please could someone terraform South London?
In other news, Guest has been deposited with fellow-Italian at British Museum; during her stay we managed Return of the King (twice), the LOTR Exhibition, the London Eye, the Barley Mow, a trip to Tonbridge Castle (Guest only, with
ladymoonray, and an Andy Serkis sighting (by sneaking around at FP, queue was ~5 hours long). Extremely enjoyable, where 'enjoyable' carries connotations of endurance training.
Plan: hot bath / load iPod with cheesy music / wrap the last of the presents / pack swimsuit etc. Cannot cope: off toMordor the beach.
Merry Christmas to all my readers! Back online in a week or so. Don't overdo it!
