Update to previous post regarding the shriek* of schoolchildren marching down our nice quiet residential road and swearing in public ...
Exciting climbing frame / monkeybars at Senate House
Apparently the kids from Parkside "walked out onto Parker's Piece to show their support". Cannot help but feel that geography is as underfunded as anything else if they went from skool to Parker's Piece via R_____ Rd. (And am, btw, fully in support of the protest.)

Date: Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 08:41 pm (UTC)R_____ Rd is the recommended 'safe' route between schools, so they were Being Good. Had they (or the possibly mythical agitators) been more politically savvy, they would have gone down Mill Rd instead.
I'm proud to say that Spider fitted in double maths before the demo and English after. He missed History and French. The French teacher won't give him a detention because she was protesting too--being a proper French person. The History teacher is apparently quite Conservative (or has a big house, which may not be the same thing) so there could be a risk of trouble there.
Apparently the police were at the protest with Parkside teachers, pulling out anyone in school uniform (smallest first) and sending them back to school. But Spider and M zipped their coats up so they looked like university students. They left when people started getting silly at the Senate House.
