The Amazing Invisible Web Site
Wednesday, December 10th, 2003 09:24 amHelp!
WebDNS, who provide whatever makes www.bsfa.co.uk (which will not work) point to www.avnet.co.uk/amaranth/BSFA/ (which should work) seem to have gone out of business. Our redirect vanished some time last week. So did their website. They are not answering emails. Their phone number doesn't work (disconnected or out of order).
Bastards
What can I do to get www.bsfa.co.uk working again, and pointing where it should?
NB: This does count as 'yet another bloody thing going wrong', yes

Date: Wednesday, December 10th, 2003 01:52 am (UTC)However, as whois indicates that you (or at least the BSFA) are the owners of the domain it should be fairly easy to get it detagged, and moved to another forwarding service. It may just take a little time - but its days not weeks.

Date: Wednesday, December 10th, 2003 02:52 am (UTC)I'm surprised that there is no news re WebDNS online -- I would have thought that this would have affected a lot of people. On the other hand, it might be an Avnet-type situation -- because we got the domain name free and have never paid anything, it's possible that they have mailed their customers and we're simply not on their customer list.
Grrrr.

Date: Wednesday, December 10th, 2003 02:55 am (UTC)Too nice a day to hang around for experts. Sunshine bound to get rid of sulk and temper tantrums (mine, not theirs). Anyway, have to ask permission to spend boundless BSFA funds.
