[livejournal.com profile] ozymandias_cat is stalking things that aren't there I can't see. Several different things. In different parts of the room. He is quite nervous about them all, poor kitty.

It may be a scent thing. Has the cleaner used a new product?

cleaner-day now Fri not Tues so nothing new scent-wise, at least that I can think of... Though scent-stuff has certainly freaked him out in the past (e.g. the first time I went to the beach after he moved in.)

He stalked the pattern on the rug; the edge of the bookshelf; something under the chair. Is now resting from exertions.

Whereas Bob is licking up the menthol exhalations from my tissues. He also likes deep heat. Weird cat is weird.

My personal belief is that cats do this to freak out humans... Seems to be working!

Yes, this. It's worse if there's a baby around (fortunately not the case here), because babies can see the invisible monsters too.

Cats clearly see things the rest of us do not see.
But poor kitty - that it upsets him.

Mine have always gone roawrrr and stalked whatever it was.

It's probably a really tiny bug, or one of those airborn bits of fluff.
