Snowy woods and sunshine

Today was such a glorious day I googled some woods and went and walked in them. (Sawtry ancient woodland walk). And wrote a couple of haiku in my head, including:
Frosty Ice Age woodland
sunlight flickers through bare trees
motorway roars close

Then I came home, wrote off up 2009, and did my share of deChristmassing the house, which is always rather sad (but let's face it, the festive season ends when werk starts up again).

The walk (maybe even the drive) helped my sore head and shoulder: the remaining discomfort seems to have settled at the base of my spine. Thank heavens bugshaw for codeine!

I hate the xmyth decorations hanging around after New Year's Day, so ours came down yesterday. House seems very drab, though :)

Wis I felt safe going for a proper walk yet. Yesterday I walked, like Shackleton sans dogs, to the paper shop but today has been FAIL on outside again..
