The rain has lumps in it. [livejournal.com profile] ozymandias_cat is not impressed and neither am I.

Cambridge, UK -- summer daytime -- temperature 12o, HAIL
Nelson, NZ -- winter nighttime -- temperature 14o, !HAIL

It's sunny and yet also raining here. This isn't supposed to happen when I'm working from home!

It's not fair...

I wish I had a vest on today. Unfortunately they are all in the loft :(

Remember though that Nelson is a lot closer to the equator than Cambridge is. Like, it's roughly antipodean to Porto.

(We tend to think of NZ as opposite the UK, when it's more opposite Iberia.)

Still, it was snowing on the Pennines a few days ago. At least it was only cold rain here.

Nah, not a matter of antipodean, the comparison is because that's where I'll be in three weeks! (And to think I was worrying about missing summer ... which of course I will, you wait, there'll be splendid weather here in the UK for the first three weeks of July ...)

Ah, I thought you just picked it as a random place in the middle of NZ (and pretty close to the actual middle, too).

Well, enjoy a NZ winter. And thanks for ensuring the good weather over here.

And it was 14 daytime in Sydney yesterday and complete strangers kept saying to each other "Isn't it cold? how are you COPING?!" It was to laugh. Admittedly somewhere out in the Western suburbs it had for about 10 micro seconds actually snowed which i think hadn't happened since about 1302..
