If anyone went to the John Wyndham memorial event and could email me a little bit about it -- who was there, what happened -- or allow me to plunder a pre-existing LJ entry, I would be extremely grateful. (= a pint, at least)

Have been up and working since 6. This end of the day is all cool and quiet. A blessed relief!

Will e-mail you an advance copy of my next Acnestis contribution, in which I talk about it.

I was there, and seemed to spend much of my time getting the TV and video to work so that we could receive Arthur C Clarke's words from on high. Other luminaries present included Brian Aldiss and John Christopher (who's real name I forget just now) and Chris Priest. Among other things I learned about JW's birth in Dorridge, and his odd existance as a long time resident of the Pen Club.

It was a good evening. Sadly I had to leave early as I was flying to Paris early the next day, so I can't say much beyond the 'official' speaches.
