nice day for a drive. Less nice in Luton. Especially not nice to discover meeting cancelled at last minute. (A few stalwarts were standing around to alert us, stamping their feet in the snow -- ungritted roads / pavements in that part of Luton, which added to the fun, but now I know how to get car out when it's stuck in slushy ice.)
Had a pleasant drive there and back, good loud Sibelius / Tchaikovsky / Delibes, and a pause for fresh air on the Magog Down (and on various backroads where the snow in the fields was deep and crisp and even: nice detours). It was nice to get out of Cambridge and look at proper winter weather as opposed to slush.
And there's not even an email from the organiser to say he's cancelled the meeting. Indeed, the most recent (8:55am) says "YES MEETING STILL ON".
Twit. I have alerted him to this fact.
edit to add:
just received email: "at 10.30 a.m i had a phone call from the meeting venue ... by the time i got home from my journey to thr venue it was past 11a.m, i have since been out for the day ...i am as annoyed about this situation as you are"
Er, I don't think you are, because I didn't get home from my journey to the venue 'til nearly 3pm.
