Funnily enough my thought on the Tesco story was like one of the comments:

"10 items or less" means I can take 10 items to the checkout. "Up to 10 items" sounds like I can only take nine. Has this really made anything clearer, or have Tesco reduced the number of items I can take to a fast track checkout?

but I'd changed my mind, thinking no, it includes ten. But why then is there the phrase "up to and including x"? Cans, worms...

My completely unsupported, unscientific contention is that increased exercise levels are beneficial at least in part because of the mental stimulation they involve, as opposed to it being a purely physical effect.

I don't suffer from SAD, but this persistent cloud cover has slowed me right down and really limited my energy levels. I'm glad that I had the boost of spending a week somewhere sunny last month.
