Sam update

I've spoken to the vet. Sam's liver enzymes are way up and he is likely to get worse quite quickly.

His final appointment is booked: 5.50pm on Friday.

He's hoovered down a tin of M&S Luxury Chicken Dinner, and there is fresh tuna in his future.

I'm sorry. I've been there recently and I know how hard this can be. But you've made the right decision for him.

On the positive side, you've made his last few years happy, happier than they would have been if he'd stayed where he was before. Actually, given my understanding of the situation, he may not even have had those years if he'd stayed where he was.

I'm so sorry. But, as others have said, you're doing the right thing and you can be sure you've given him the best life he could have had.

I often say if there's reincarnation I want to come back as a cat - as long as I can be well cared for. I don't generally think about the end bit of the scenario, but I suppose it's part of what I have in mind. When the time came I'd want to be fed tuna and saved from pointless suffering. And then come back as another well-cared-for kitty.
