More kitty woes

Shiva just had a seizure (proper drama with convulsions, loss of bladder control, howling, eyes bulging). As far as I know this has never happened before and I can't help thinking it's an after-effect of her time at the vet.

She's fine now, hasn't bitten her tongue or anything, very purry and clingy. I'm sitting on the sofa with her wrapped in a towel, waiting for her to chill out a bit before I change the bedclothes.

Back to the v-e-t in the morning sweetheart!

Theo did that the night after he'd been at the vet all day for an electrocardiogram or was it an ultrasound I can't remember... it was to do with investigating a worry about his heart in any case (They had been unable to do it in any case, as he launched himself with claws out at the vet nurse any time they tried to take him out of the cage. Even if they had been willing to try to handle him he needed to be *calm* for the test to be of any use. *Sigh* They actually had me come into the back to transfer him to his carrier to go home. He let me take him out of the cage and put him in the carrier without objection.)

He scared me witless - especially as I had to leave on a work trip that day. My housemate took him back to the vet and they found nothing.

But he's never done it again since *fingers crossed*

Spookie did that after an anesthetic to remove a tooth and again after removal of a fatty lump.
Only did it the twice, we assume it was the drugs or the stress, he was about 16? Lived for another 6 years without ever having another one.
Keep a towel handy in case it happens again, I swaddled the Spookster to stop him from hurting himself or me.

Scary, hope it's a one off.

Oh no! *cuddles you both* Hope it's just a one-off - was she asleep or awake beforehand?

Xander either gets purry and clingy, or disorientated (as in, he has to constantly patrol the flat for about two hours) after he fits. FYI, in case it happens again (and the vet has likely told you this already), you're not sposed to touch them during or soon after a fit - which is hard, I know, but the extra stimulation can make things worse / prolong them / start another one, and dimming the lights helps too. Can only offer sympathy about the bedclothes!
