Colonic irrigation

Shiva, after three days of (messy and smelly) unwellness -- and being so off-form that she didn't complain when I bathed her -- has been inspected by the v-e-t and is off to the Reigate branch for sedation, enema, colonic irrigation and fluids by IV. (There is apparently a major blockage, which might be constipation or hairballs or something less temporary.) She'll be in overnight, which'll be the first night she's spent away from Sam in her entire life. Poor little Shi! (Though she was too poorly to make much fuss.)

I am doing laundry. A lot of laundry.

Oh no! She's definitely in the best place for an unwell pusscat - though I do understand how awful it feels regardless.

Thinking of you and both the puds - but especially of Shiva and V-e-t stuff. Poor wee soul - they don't like it up 'em!
Still, if the blockage can be removed, it will be all to the good for her - and for your upholstery.

Poor Shiva, poor Sam, poor you! (Even have some - limited - sympathy for your no-doubt traumatised washing machine...

If she's just doing this to upstage Fruitcake, you can tell her the splotchy one is "doing well" in recovery and we can go fetch her home after 5 o'clock. Leakage followed by feline colonic irrigation (I used to want to be a vet!) is a clear win: she doesn't need to do more.

Glad to hear Fruitcake is doing well! Apparently Shiva is more comfortable (and unblocked: the vet described results as 'like concrete') now though they are keeping her in overnight to check out possible thickening of intestinal wall.
