I should point out that the music was splendid (though, from where we were sitting, slightly too loud - especially the brass): that Ascanio had a stunning voice: that the entire cast seemed to delight in bringing out some interesting subtext: that the opera owed a debt to Rossini but had a very French flavour ...
Should, but am laughing too hard at memory of Gothic Guard. Good production + men in dark glasses with swords = Culture. Yeah.
