sudden fatigue

does anyone else get this?

As in, feeling fine and relatively lively and Doing Things ... then suddenly even sitting in the chair is incredibly effortful and all you want to do is curl up for a nap. Not read, not watch TV/DVD, certainly not any web stuff. Just sleeeeeeep.

(I'm not going to have a bloody nap. No matter how inviting my cat-strewn bed looks.)

Wonder if it's physical or psychological?

Oddly enough, I'm just about to totter off to a cat-strewn bed. But I have the excuse of having flu.

It may by now be more accurately a cat-and-Pam-strewn bed. She's got it too.

1. Yes.
2. Probably both.

Every day. But then I do have an afternoon nap most days. Comes of working early mornings, having afternoons off and still wanting to have a social life in the evening rather than going to bed at 8pm.

Yes, I get sudden crashes these days, and second winds and so forth. I guess it's another side of (bipolar?) mood swings.

I've had week of going to the pub every night and I've hardly been this month. Once since Sunday. Not me now.

"but for better quality of life before it goes pear-shaped ..."

I think I was all in favour of that, whatever it was . . .

Every time I have to wake before 8 am, hence periodic disagreements with employers. I then desperately need to sleep between 2 and 4 pm. I'm convinced that in my case it is purely physical (if one can truly make that distinction).

Yes.
It depends.

Mind you, due to continuing exhaustion after chest infection (now celebrating 7 weeks) I'm not exactly a normal subject. Right now I either need to sleep until about 9am in the morning or have a mid-afternoon nap. The latter does make it harder to sleep the following night.

I'm quite in favour of naps. In fact, I'm increasingly in favour of doing things when your body suggests them rather than waiting until some pre-determined time to either eat or sleep. A little bit to be going on with is a good thing.
