Has anyone else had this lasts-for-ever cold? Is there anything that makes it go away? Mine was gathering strength on Wednesday morning and is still with me, worse than ever. (Aches, fatigue, gasping for breath if air's too warm, nose / throat / chest pain if air's too cold, extremely narrow zone between the two ...) Fresh air has not helped, nor has Tesco Max Strength Cold and Flu Remedy: curiously, the mulled wine I had yesterday did not make things worse.

Terracotta Warriors at the BM tomorrow. Shall try not to sneeze all over 'em.

Hot toddy does wonders for me. Especially prepared with Jersey milk, acacia honey and 12-years Lagavulin. Not that it cures cold, mind you. It just makes you care a lot less.

(In general, staying in bed with plenty of water, a hot cat on your feet and say a whole season of Battlestar galactica also helps.)

Uh, let's see. Last year I was sick with serious cold/flu from two days after Christmas until February. So yes. Maybe it's the same one. Ugh. I'm so sorry.

*hugs you and administers hot brandied drink of your choice (or rum, if you prefer ;) )*

Mostly had a for about three weeks - which led to nose bleeds at worst. Never bad enough to stop doing stuff, and yet. It has shifted from warm to freezing and back all too often, which maybe didn't help.

I'm sorry you're still feeling rough :(

The Terracotta Army has survived for quite a few years, I doubt your cold will kill them.

It depends on the sound frequency and the power of the sneeze...it might look like a vampire being staked in Buffy!

I don't mean to depress you, but seriously the only thing that works on this nasty never-ending cold is time - the worst for me being the temporary brain-death from which I seemed to suffer. Hot toddies, hot chocolate, lots of sleep - that's about it.

Same here. Had it 10 days now. And I'm down to sniffles and muzziness, but I'm just totally fed up with it all.

Since paracetamol and strepsils only got me so far with my cold a few weeks ago, I found that red chillies were surprisingly helpful. How to put this delicately? They really shift the snot.

I chopped one up and added it to a pot of lemon tea. Should you give this a gander, I might suggest keeping the cats away from it.
