Despite having been charged all night, my precious Zen MP3 player didn't last through the journey back from Plymouth. Battery life's down to a couple of hours, so it's not a feasible option for long journeys.

Which model Zen do you have? Batteries for several models around £6 from here (http://www.global-batteries.co.uk/index.php/cPath/338_339?gclid=CKiH0cHLr5ACFQ6hQwodfmvjhQ) (random link from google, there are other shops!)

Since I started watching movies and TV programmes on my 80Gb iPod Video I really notice the battery life a lot more ...

Last time I replaced the battery in an MP3 player (iPod), the replacement didn't seem to hold a charge as well -- and, probably sheer coincidence, the thing crashed and burnt (well, got very hot and wouldn't work) not long after! £40 for 4GB doesn't seem a bad deal, and I'm allowing myself some superfluous technology treats after the prolonged financial drough of Flat-Sale ...

That is a concern ... £40 for 4Gb is excellent, and with 4Gb you won't be tempted to stick movies or TV on it (though if you were tempted, you can go for the 4Gb Zen V+ for £60)

when they opened the 17 new flash factories this year. Samsung, Trekstor and iPod Nanos have the best battery life in my tests - 24 hours if you can put up with the Apple crap, 18 for the others... haven't tested a Zen in a while so can't say.
