Dear Amazon, postponing a two-book order til January when one of the books is in stock Right Now is bad and naughty: see email.

Dear Sat-Nav People, Friday Street is not the route to anywhere, especially if you're directing the driver of a whopping great Hungarian lorry. Don't do it again.

Dear Solicitor, please to be enjoying your day. The letter of complaint (6pp) should be arriving tomorrow morning.

Dear Fuji, I still have no working camera: it's your turn next.

Dear Global Pharma Co, facilitating your print-run of extra special labels that are resistant to -100o is keeping me from the last five hundred words of Nanowrimo (though admittedly it's more like the last five thousand of the story). Is your 900-page print run really necessary?

Am still cheerful, anyway. *bounce*

Amazon give you the option in your orders of having everything sent at once when it's all available or having it sent one by one as it comes into stock. The latter option obviously costs more in postage.

"insert pin in round end ..."

Yes, I know. But on this order they were claiming that both items were delayed until January -- even though one of them is currently in stock.

To be on the safe side and make quite sure I didn't lose the gift certificate, I'd place another order for other things I wanted. Then combine the orders, and then cancel the original items, leaving the gift certificate with the new items.

Friday Street is on the way to a nice little pub called the Royal Oak. Surrey Hills beers, and snuff samples on the bar.
