Software enquiry

I'm looking for free software (online app, trial version, freeware, whatever) that will let me specify a start position (A) and end position (B) and produce an animation of the journey from A to B. This is such a vague requirement that my Google-fu fails. Help pls?

It looks as if Easy GIF Animator (http://www.blumentals.net/egifan/index.php) might do the job - it has a free trial version, although as it's priced in US$ even registering it would be fairly cheap. As it's a PC rather than Mac app I've not had a chance to try it out but it looks like it might let you define a line along a path.
