Sadly, that's just the letter of complaint to the property managers. (Two of those words are 'quiet' and 'enjoyment', thanks to major_clanger.)

I have ragefully done laundry and tidied up a bit. Plans for rest of day include:
- an energetic swim
- buying curtains that provide a little more insulation
- driving somewhere scenic with the laptop and writing 'til the battery runs down.

Am hoping that by about 5pm the carpet-fitters will have packed their carpet-bags and gone off in their carpet-van to their home, which is under the carpet.

That sounds like several good and useful things. And I love the laptop idea. Maybe we should organise a 'write-in' some time in a cafe with a view?

I do like the notion of a 'write-in'! There is something very nice about sitting quietly with other like-minded writers, tapping away.
