The Horrible Truth

Once I had a London Transport photocard. But heaven knows where it is. Believe me I have looked.
So, looks like a new one. Have even located some ID photos.
Aaaaaargh.
They will not make me a new photocard. They will lock me up and throw away the key.
Safer to pay fare daily, I think ...

Oh yes, in my last passport photo, I look like a terrorist. I'm amazed they let me on the plane.

Don't be silly. Paying the fare daily is more expensive, and you know it. Unless you're not staying for as long as a week, of course.

You could always get some more photos done, if you really hate the ones you've found. But the one on my photocard is my 1994 vampire look. Now that IS scary!

Suspect it's not more expensive to pay the daily fare at present -- this is a four-day week, and the weekly travelcard is typically the same price as ten singles. Anyway, that would mean finding a staffed ticket office without a queue a mile long! Will use old photos (for amusement-in-pubs value) but cannot help feeling that old photocard will turn up eventually. The day after I get a new one, I should think ...

are you not going back next week, then?

perhaps wild horses dragging me would be quicker than Connex?

Am angling for three-day week or somesuch. I can't hack Mon-Fri, it'll kill all my other job prospects, not to mention my social life and my bounce bounce bounce yoga class!

>Current music: Radio3. *why* no full listings any more? This isn't Handel!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/listings/ seems pretty concice I think however the Sibelius was early... or late... or fuck knows I'm also up at the same ungodly hours as you and I'm just grateful its not the sounds of the Hungarian serialist orchestra being pushed over a cliff (Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm - could work).

I think they screwed up somewhere -- I expect haughty letters from listeners on Radio 4's Feeback. I can hear them harrumphing as they whittle their quill pens and roughing the vellum all the way up here in the scottish borders

nah, they missed out the Faure yesterday morning, and the nasty modern thing that was someone I'd never heard of (am entirely with you on the best fate for Hungarian serialists, though I find the same effect can be achieved by detuning the station a couple of positions ...) They used to include every single piece, with timings, and I don't understand why they stopped: they must have the info, after all.

Suspect all this early-morningness is to do with blissful sunshine, something we've had far too little of recently!
