Balancing Act

* The post-release party (all expenses paid by company) took place in my absence: but the release happened at last!
* The person dealing with my complaint re financial advisor, who promised to contact me within four weeks and didn't, is now out of the office until 28th August: but this gave me free rein to escalate it to management.
* In my absence, the department has been reorganised and I have been somewhat 'demoted': but I won't have to sit through 5-hour Tech Leadership Team meetings any more.
* I am very very broke this month: but I have enough capacity on two interest-free credit cards to move other CC balances to those cards, thus not haemorrhaging interest for the next 8 or 9 months.
* I am not sure I understood the end of Brasyl: but I enjoyed it very much all the same.
* Nothing has changed for the better, werkwise, in my absence: but Trying Colleague is on holiday for two weeks.
* No one has bought my flat yet: but ... erm ... they probably will. Yes.
* It was grey and cold and rainy this morning: but it's not as though I was doing anything except coming to werk.
ETA:
* The person who's failing to sort out a lost eBay item (I bought it, it never arrived) is mysteriously silent: but I can now leave richly-deserved negative feedback, and complain to eBay / PayPal with a clear conscience (it's been two months) and should actually get a refund.
