Help re eBay?

Won an item on eBay: seller says they sent it: no sign of it: now she is offering to send me the proof of posting so *I* can make the claim. Meanwhile she has my money, and has had it for over a month. Is it reasonable for her to ask me to sort it all out? Do I have any chance at all of getting compensation for what I paid? And how long does it usually take?

It's up to the seller to deliver. If Royal Mail (Or another courier) has made a mess of the delivery they are atill acting as her agents in the transaction. She should chase them. If you've paid by Paypal you may get some of your money back.

You can't actually make the claim with Royal Mail; she has to. If she has the proof of postage, it's basically trivial for amounts up to £34 (less postage). If you paid by Paypal you may get a portion of your money back, depending on the size of the claim. Do check with your sorting office because sometimes they don't bother to stick notes through the door when leaving a parcel.

In terms of her liabilities as a seller, it's not terribly clear. If she has good feedback & reputation then I would have thought she'd refund (I certainly would).
