I suppose it might be my body clock that's stuffed. Have felt very, very sleepy in the mornings since coming back from Eastercon -- despite sleeping up to nine hours a night. (I usually average about 6.5). Skipped yoga class last night in favour of going back to bed a mere nine hours after leaving it, since I could hardly keep my eyes open. A very disrupted 'night' of sleep, but I think I've slept or dozed for 12 hours out of a period of 15. (And the other 3 hours were uselessly located between 3 and 6 am, and I did consider getting up and doing stuff ...) It was a remarkably active sleep, too, lots of turning-over and dreaming and losing the quilt. Good thing, as I didn't venture further than the bottom of the stairs yesterday and am probably seizing up due to lack of exercise.
Just thought you'd all be interested in that!
Woken (briefly) by an incredibly loud noise at 7am, but there is nothing on the news to explain it.

Am now going to have a productive day. Quite how I will manage this as well as a pub meet is another matter.

Will be posting later about culture.

EDITED as I have remembered the origin of the impulse to post.
For those ([livejournal.com profile] brisingamen, [livejournal.com profile] fishlifter, [livejournal.com profile] gummitch, etc) who remember Acnestis meets in the Paviours Arms ... see here for sad news. They don't mention the jukebox, I note. Or the tatty seats.

There was thunder and lightning when I got up this morning, could it have been that? Timing is right.

Yes, that could explain it, though I missed the lightning! A more pleasant explanation than train crash / bomb / building collapse, all of which flashed through my mind.

There wasn't much lightning, I had my curtains open and was sitting at my pc facing the window and I just saw the slightest lightening of the sky. It didn't last long either.

I saw a report in a newspaper last week. I shall miss the Thai food. I regret the way the photograph makes the place look like the interior of a 1950s cocktail cabinet.

Ugh, I hate that. When I was having a particularly bad run with insomnia/troubled sleep, I did indeed start getting up at 4am and doing email and LJ till I usually felt sleepy again around 6/7am. (You might remember some not v exciting entries from that period!) I domn't know if it actually helped me get back to sleep but at least I was less BORED...

It's something that is happening all over, this demolition of pubs. One to add to my last-orders.com site before it goes forever.
