... which I and others struggle with from time to time.

33 ways to boost your productivity

I'm surprised at how many of these I'm already doing (though some of the most effective, like the getting-up-stupidly-early, I fell out of the habit of while I was zombified).

Pop picks:
# "Timeboxing. Give yourself a fixed time period, like 30 minutes, to make a dent in a task. Don’t worry about how far you get. Just put in the time."

# "Cone of silence. Take a laptop with no network or WiFi access, and go to a place where you can work flat out without distractions"

# "Glittering prizes. Give yourself frequent rewards for achievement."

And best of all "#1: Nuke it! The most efficient way to get through a task is to delete it. If it doesn’t need to be done, get it off your to do list." this is the one that I tend to feel bad about though.

I'd never thought of that one - but it could make cleaning the kitchen a lot easier.

I thought this link was so good, I'm going to email it to myself at work.

Look how productive you've helped us all be by doing this.

Relaxify? RELAXIFY?????

Bloody made-up words!!

As for Nuke It, that is actual official advice for dealing with e-mails at my workplace. If you know you're never going to deal with a particular e-mail, delete it. How cool is that?

Our team is doing a Personal Efficiency Program course at work, and the last two days has been pretty summed up by this list ;-). The term Cone of Silence was mentioned, so I built one from A3 card, drew a big D on it (for don't talk to me) and tried to make my workmates wear it.

Strangely they didn't seem to want to get into the spirit of things.... ;-)

I'm gtoing to have to send this link to myself at work.
