Proms 2007 programme announced.

I'm a little disappointed by the absence of anything I really really want to be at. No Biber! No Rachmaninoff piano! No obscure Latin-American baroque!

And yes, Beethoven's 9th is the acme of the Western Romantic tradition, but do we need it twice? when there's several performances per year in London anyway? What is wrong with symphonies 1-6, eh?)

I do, however, look forward to many peaceful evenings on the verandah with my digital radio.

Ooh, a verandah. Will you also be sipping a mint julep?

I want to go to Prom 41 on 14th August, for Rhapsody in Blue. I will understand if you don't want to come :)

"On the Town" is pretty good too, you know.

I'm not a particular Bernstein fan, I fear!

Oh, and I'm being tempted by Mahler 3. And Faure's Requiem. And I'd love to hear L'Arlesienne again, but the rest of the programme for that one is rubbish.
