I have been in Plymouth for the weekend. And we went to the BEACH and it was HOT. Here you see first sea-bathing of the year -- and it was surprisingly mild, I've swum in colder seas in the middle of summer -- and you may also be able to detect First Sunburn of the Year.

April! Swimming in the Sea in April!

Even my sister went paddling, twice, and she is usually far too delicate.

Ah yes, the Happisburgh trip. I swear there were icicles forming on my swimming trunks...

There was one day we swam at Hove that was even colder than Happisburgh. The water there is so deep, there's no chance for the sun to warm it at all. Happisburgh was pretty bloody cold, though. I still flinch when I think of it!

And I did swim at Whitby in November once, with jhaelan. They sent the lifeboat out. We were terribly embarrassed...
