A Good Weekend ...

.. spent thinking, writing, reviewing*, reading, swimming, and Being Outdoors.

I haven't had my own Outdoors (i.e. a space I can do with more or less as I will, that starts off with little or nothing) for ... hmm, forever. (The garden in Sussex was lovely but Not Mine. And too big. Before that, my Outdoors was Greenwich Park. Before that, Wandsworth Common. OK-ish fire-escape-cum-balcony in New Malden but what with it being a fire escape with a view of the railway, possibilities were limited).

I have a patio and a verandah. Yesterday, I moved a chair and a 'table' out there. Today, I swept / weeded / bought and hung a clothesline (My First Clothesline!) / washed tiles / de-littered. And I've only come indoors because it's too dark out there to type ...

Next: CIDER. Yay!

* reviewing on my book blog is its own reward when within a couple of hours there's a friendly comment from the author <g> despite the fact I was not 100% positive!

I have a small back yard with a few pots, big enough for the wood/coal store and a chair, not that I often sit out, I have pale skin, I avoid the sun, but it's awfuly nice to have.
I have the black thumb, I can kill any plant in 12 months.
I'd have taken the iBook out there this afternoon but it was too bright, I couldn't see the screen.

But at the end of the cul de sac is a lovely open area, maintained by the council, with a brook and about 2 acres of accessable meadow, trees, grassland and I love having it there. When Spookie was very elderly and nearly blind, I used to take him for walks down there, now I sometimes take Max so he can show me his tree and his pipe and his log, etc.
Max in His Tree (other cats, including the late lamented Spooks, who even at the age of 22 could climb that far, may beg to differ)

your img link disappeared! but luckily I got it in the email notification. Oh yes, Lord of All He Surveys all right ...

I ended up writing long-hand this afternoon (which can be good for fiction-writing) because the sun was far too bright for anything else. Lovely!

Mm, yeah for global warming and it being too warm and sunny to use the computer outside in April!

The neighbours think I have dug up and re-animated Spookie, Max and Spooks look so alike.
