Total food intake today: one sandwich baguette, one tub reduced-calorie prawn cocktail. (This is a fairly standard lunch.)
Before eating Food: felt OK.
Since eating Food: felt awful. To the extent I thought I might throw up all over the hairdresser. Luckily he did a good job so I held on ...

Going back to bed now. It's nice there. Sunshine, cats, books.

I haven't really been following the details of this I'm afraid but could it not be connected to following a long weekend of drinking a fair bit? My stomach acted up at the weekend too, and is now recovering after, not coincidentally I feel, two days of not drinking and not eating fry ups. have you tried removing foodstuffs from your diet for two weeks? As FJM suggests it could be gluten but it might well be something less drastic; too much alcohol, too much fat, lactose, sugar whatever. Sadly we're all getting older and our bodies don't take the pounding any more ;(

Also does swilling Gaviscon help? if so it's an acid reflux thing . (My mum has this!) Alternately have you been taking a lot of ibuprofen long term? Also leads to stomach problems sometimes. There's so many things this could be - IBS, stress, other drug side effects - have you already spoken to your gp I assume??

it's not impossible that it's connected -- but I'm tending towards the 'food poisoning' explanation for this particular bout. It's much more severe and quite different to the stomach thng (which perplexes GP, I will be seeing a Consultant, yay!) and I didn't really overdo it at the weekend, apart from Saturday night -- didn't partake of the pigginabun, didn't drink beer, didn't eat anything especially frightful.

At the moment am just desperate to keep down some liquid. I haven't been this sick for many years. Not even with migraines.

Gaa! if several others have it then yeh it does sound like food poisoning - ick. I didn't have the piginabun but I did have sausage in a bun which looked both distinctly under cooked and reheated..
