I have two weeks' paid work, working half-days at Big Film Company, and they promise me a working, networked PC with the right version of Access!

And I'm feeling immensely better after last night's yoga class: not entirely unknotted, but have banished Grey Thinking to the depths where it belongs.
A - Act your age? Very seldom. I suppose it averages out between thoroughly middle-aged behaviour at times and being in touch with my inner teen at others.
B - Born on what day of the week? Wednesday.
C - Chore you hate? Ironing. I have given once-worn clothes to charity because they turned out to need ironing after they'd been laundered. I am careful, these days, to buy iron-proof garments.
D - Dad's name? Richard
E - Essential makeup item? Black eyeliner
F - Favorite actor? Viggo. Stupid question.
G - Gold or silver? I'd say silver, but gold suits me better and am currently wearing gold and bronze rings ...
H - Hometown? Grew up in Canewdon, Essex. Have lived in London for half my life.
I - Instruments you play? Guitar, recorder, can pick out notes on piano.
J - Job title? Heh. Slacker, right now.
K - Kids? I couldn't eat a whole one. ... Er, certainly not, and never if I have my way.
L - Living arrangements? 2-bed flat between two railway lines, with running water outside.
M - Mom's name? Jean
N - Number of people you've slept with? Average is less than one per annum
O - Overnight hospital stays? None
P - Phobia? Wasps. Needles.
Q - Quote you like?
R - Religious affiliation? Taoist Lite
S - Siblings? One half-sister, older by 15 years
T - Time you wake up? Naturally, about 8 or 9, but I can sleep round the clock when exhausted
U - Unique habit? I doubt it's unique, but I will get stuck on a song, or a shorter snippet of music - maybe only a few seconds - and play it over and over (on headphones) for hours.
V - Vegetable you refuse to eat? Will eat any of 'em if to do otherwise would be rude or mean no dinner: but I dislike leeks, brussels sprouts, cabbage. Not keen on mushrooms.
W - Worst habit? thinking in circles when stressed (usually about emotional matters).
X - X-rays you've had? Teeth (baroque wisdom teeth): chest for respiratory problems: ankle: leg
Y - Yummy food you make? Paella
Z - Zodiac Sign? Libra: it all balances out in the end.

like I care? really

B - Born on what day of the week? Wednesday.
So we have that in common.

F - Favorite actor? Viggo. Stupid question.
I suppose he is really very all-purpose. How many of his movies have you seen?

G - Gold or silver? I'd say silver, but gold suits me better and am currently wearing gold and bronze rings ...
This is one of those questions that appears to be binary but then you can open it out.

L - Living arrangements? 2-bed flat between two railway lines, with running water outside.
Outside of what?

N - Number of people you've slept with? Average is less than one per annum since I started doing it.
Well I found that a nice way of looking at it. But then doesn't one's average go down eventually? Sad thought. Or maybe not.

P - Phobia? Wasps. Needles.
Ooh me too. Pointy metal objects in general. You could put an eye out!

re Mr Mortensen ... um, 7 or 8 (not really that many out of 30-40, but I really don't do film so this represents significant effort!) Impressed by the utter difference - down to body language - between the characters he plays.

and re 'number of people' - oops, actually I screwed up that stat and had to edit the post! ... trying to remember what I was thinking when I typed that! And of course it all depends on the rate at which the increments occur.

Viggo: I was really impressed with his excellent badness in GI Jane, which ran on the network television the month after he first appeared as Aragorn, something completely different.

The rate at which increments occur: I am all for further study and investigation. But numbering the notches on one's gun, as the saying goes, is not a good thing in this particular area of endeavor. Maybe it is just as well to get tangled up in the statistical definitions as soon as we escape normative male-centered sexuality: what "sleep"? what counts? Did Bill sleep with Monica? (Personally, I can go either way on whether he had sex with her, depending on the uses to which the answer will be put. Just as interesting is the question, did he love that woman? or she him? and is it any of my business? no.)
