tamaranth'The Lottery', by Shirley Jackson.
A classic low-key horror story. I was actually in search of another of Jackson's short stories, but I can't find it online (or, indeed, offline. Bah.) Still, this is deceptively simple and light and should provide a cheery antidote to Mondayitis.
