Wednesday: had Standard Werk Lunch #3 of Ryvita & Whole Earth peanut butter. By 2:30 felt really ill (vomitting, dizziness, slight visual disturbance, overheating). Ended up going home.
Thursday: dozed in bed. Symptoms cleared.
Friday: had Standard Werk Lunch #3 of Ryvita and Whole Earth peanut butter. By 2:30 felt really ill (vomitting, dizziness, slight visual disturbance, overheating).

Is there a pattern here? Has anyone else experienced sudden intolerance of favourite foods?

I should add that I've been suffering from more-or-less constant low-level stomach upset since late November. This is different, or at least a different set of symptoms.

Neither Ryvita nor peanut butter (nor nuts in general) have ever bothered me before.

Was it the same jar of peanut butter both times? Perhaps it's picked up some unpleasant bacteria.

It was. (Jar now discarded.) Bacteria pick-up must have been between Tuesday and Wednesday ... I *think* that's what I had on Tuesday (but don't want to think too closely about food right now)

I was about to ask the same question. I think that there's something going around, as [livejournal.com profile] valkyriekaren's not well either, with something similar. Although I doubt she's been raiding your PB.

I've not had that experience, but I believe it's fairly typical of allergies that they are triggered by proloned/repeated exposure.
