I do like LibraryThing's UnSuggester -- takes "people who like this also like that" and turns it on its head -- but sometimes it makes me feel like a freak.

Example:
Did you like? You will not like!

They were both excellent! Though Bitch didn't have as happy an ending ...<g>

In other news, am still a few books behind on Blogger book-reviews -- [livejournal.com profile] tamaranthblog -- but have hit the hundred. I'm told there are some problems with that LJ feed, though (and I hardly get any comments on my posts on Blogger*). Next year, shall I choose the saturation method and post reviews here on LJ as well as over there?

*and when I do get reviews, I generally don't reply because of lack of comment-threading, user identification, context ... apologies if I've ignored anyone!

The first unSuggestion for Michael Pollan's "Second Nature" is "The Fifth Elephant". Then there's a lot of Stephen King and then "Red Mars". My sort of reading.

It works for me. I recommend keeping up with the blogger version though - it takes aboiut a year for it to start to pay dividends.

I do believe that [livejournal.com profile] dmw loves that second book, but I'm unfamilliar with the first.
