Torchwood 1 & 2, some thorts
Monday, October 23rd, 2006 12:48 pm1. Actually I quite enjoyed it and found it entertaining.
2. But really only for the tantalising hints at Jack's back-story (which I'm sure won't be explained for some time: but I want to know what happened between the Game Station and Cardiff).
3. Owen is a creep, and pretty indiscriminate too. Would have been funnier and sexier if it wasn't date-rape.
4. Do they really have lewd adverts in Cardiff?
5. Jack Harness, Intergalactic Conman, was sexy. Jack Harkness, Head of Covert Ops in Contemporary Cardiff, comes across as sleazy.
6. The Hand! The Hand! (Now I want the backstory of how he got it, and what he hopes to do with it. Oooh, it is just like Christmas.)
7. Chinese Lady needs character. She's rather wallpaperish.
8. That plot twist is cheating. (And reminds me of the climax of Pirates of the Caribbean 1.) Where is the suspense, eh?
9. I liked Gwen's hair. (And if they ever film Saga of the Exiles, Eve Myles should be cast as Sukey.)
10. Was expecting this to be slashtastic, but when everyone is apparently (a) bisexual and (b) amoral, it's merely canon. And thus not very interesting.
10a.

Indeed ...
Date: Monday, October 23rd, 2006 12:39 pm (UTC)Owen is
a) a creep
b) a very bad Lee Evans impersonator
All other Torchwood employees (i.e. not Jack or Gwen) are cardboard cut outs, but at least they've got a cardboard cutout Quentin Tarantino :-)
Yesterday was a day of people turning to sand, as I got around to watching a couple of back episodes of Eureka and they did the "people turned to piles of sand" there as well (well, sort of people) ... which reminds me of both the Star Trek episode and the old TV Batman as well!
