tamaranthI've been ringing the Disability Living Allowance enquries line every day - several times a day - for the last fortnight, and it has always been engaged.
And today it wasn't.
And I got through, and talked to several people, and within minutes had established that (1) yes, my father is entitled to the whopping great cheque they sent in late February: (2) yes, he will be entitled to the benefit for the first 28 days of his hospital stay (e.g. until Friday) and (3) yes, he will be entitled to benefit once he's in a nursing home. And, best of all, (4) no, I do not have to get an order book and queue up for ages to collect his benefit - they will resume paying into the bank, and are very sorry for any inconvenience
YES!!!
