oops, forgot this yesterday. And it's not an easy one.

1. I finally understand how validation checks work.
2. I did not burst into tears in front of my colleagues.
3. I have made an appointment with my new GP, who sent me a letter asking me to come in for an initial consultation: I think this means they have received my medical notes from former GP, and cannot quite believe them.

The GP sounds impressively proactive, that's a very good thing.

Not necessarily. I've suffered gung-ho doctors before and I feel a lot happier when they leave me alone!

Best practce (although not always "usual practice") these days is to go over the medical records with a new patient to get your view of things. When my dosage levels changed I had more episodes of species dysphoria. The doctor will write his description of things down but my new doctor (when we moved) Wanted to know what certain key episodes mean to me -- especially in areas of mental health, depression, psychiatry etc.

Too many doctors are convinced their observations are the only points of view that matter. For now maybe this doc's interest is regarded as a good thing?

Are you sure this isn't just 'cos you'd registered within the last few months? GPs don't necessarily seem to be all that hot at passing records on. My 'home'* GP never got my records the time I was at Uni, and the GP I'm with now never got any records from the 'home' GP as far as I know either!!

yes, they refer to a couple of things in my records like 'high blood pressure' (caused by the same thing that caused my migraines, e.g. BAD GP). I registered with them quite some time ago, so it makes sense for the records to have come through now -- I know the procedure for passing them on has been 'improved' recently.

Not crying in front of colleagues is a major accomplishment.
