Belated New Year Greeting

Happy New Year, everyone!

It's wonderfully quiet: after over a week of house-guests (some mine, some emphatically not) I have the house, and the day, to myself. Much to do, though I am strangely disinclined to do any of it.

I haven't been online for days; haven't read a book; haven't written anything; haven't even been for a walk. But at least today I should have time to think.

Slept through actual New Year (combination of excessive pink drink and excessive tiredness) and am quite happy to've done so. I'll spare you all my New Year's resolutions: but I am glad to have left 2005 -- a very full year, many big changes both good and bad -- behind me, and I have a real sense of 2006 being a year of progress, of moving on and changing things and having aims and goals, that has been lacking for far too long.

Wish me luck ...

I would've thought that hosting the 'emphatically not' your houseguests would inspire you to many, many long, solitary walks...

most of the time I've been here over the last few days, it's been dark and/or raining. Or horribly early. And there's only so much getting-out-of-own-home I'm prepared to do!

At present am trying to summon the energy to go out for some fresh air. Unfortunately, my battery seems to've run down.
