In other news, my entire head hurts (especially the front): and the ?new RSPCA ad* on TV has made me cry buckets.

Thanks to everyone for sympathies re face/road incident. Much appreciated. Will try not to do it again. (And my last bike accident -- not counting falling off into a puddle that was rather deeper than it looked when I started to ride through it! -- was about 13 years ago: not a bad average, even considering that I didn't ride a bike at all for a decade or so ...)

*sleeping / dead kitten. I don't watch TV very much and hadn't seen it before.

The dead kitten ad is HORRIBLE. But if it works, I'm willing to cope with it.

There was one a couple of years ago where the family get bored with a puppy and it gets thrown in a river. Made me VERY depressed. And also made me want to go out with a baseball bat with nails in it and hit people who do that sort of thing across the kneecaps.

I am unable to watch the RSPCA commercials. Most of the time, I'm unable to talk about them. They trigger terrible depressive episodes for me. When I send money to the RSPCA, I always enclose a note telling them I love them but asking them never to send me their standard literature.

I'm going to go curl up with my cat now and try to cheer up.

The 'dead kitten' ad is not new, but it works, so obviously they're keeping it. I find it fills me with a homicidal urge to do a similar thing to the person that killed the kitten... which I don't think is the intent of the ad.
