I'm currently reading Hakluyt's Principal Navigations, Voyages, Traffiques and Discoveries of the English Nation (http://etext.library.adelaide.edu.au/h/hakluyt/voyages/) (1598) -- thank heavens for e-books! (It's a 6.3MB text file.)

But no one has been bending my ear for a year or more about poor Hakluyt, and he hasn't been on any awards lists.
