Nice things to wake up to* on a Saturday morning:
- new phone from BT Fusion not that it actually works, but it's shiny
- nice message from ellen_kushner on Facebook also not working now
- LOLCATS Bible, thanks moral_vacuum, the coffee-irrigation no doubt did my nose a great deal of good
- sunshine! also also not working now
- Amazon gift voucher, thank you dear fjm!
- many many new MP3s on Puritan Blister. I wonder if any of 'em are any good ...
- not having to do anything at all at any specific time today except exchange sand-filled camera for new shiny camera, before Currys closes (or tomorrow morning)

Boo to teknology

My* Dell X300 laptop, so shiny, so small, has started to make a HORRID NOISE as though about to explode. Noise is intermittent; shutting down and restarting doesn't stop it; tilting laptop like an Etch-a-Sketch doesn't stop it; it is much louder than normal disk noise.

I fear it is the death rattle of the hard drive.

*actually a werk laptop that was going spare. Not guaranteed or anything.
