I am a great admirer of Mr Duncan's way with words: also, his mythological morphoses: also, the sheer sensuality of his writing. This isn't quite as dazzlingly playful as some of the passages in Vellum and Ink, but there's a lush richness, a wealth of texture and colour, that I find really enviable.
