Dear LiveJournal Friends

Where can I find examples of 17th-century jokes? (Will settle for 16th, 18th ... I know I found a page of nautical jokes once. Heaven knows where. Google doesn't.)

Love, me.

Edit: Ok. Have found some. Amend request to 'funny 17th century jokes'. (To be fair, these are somewhat earlier.)

Funny ones. Ummmm.

I know an Elizabethan joke that's faintly amusing, in a crassly biological way. I have a bunch of them in a book somewhere, but the book is in a box in Canada. Or maybe I gave it away, I can't remember.

Why not ask Molly? There's bound to be something in all the mountains of research she did for Invitation...

I think a lot of Ian Sorensen's material dates from around then.
